Pearl City woman arrested in 2009 pedestrian death

Police arrested a 53-year-old Pearl City woman in connection with a fatal pedestrian crash in 2009.

Bok Chong Chang turned herself in to the Pearl City police substation at 3 p.m. Wednesday and was booked for investigation of third-degree negligent homicide. She was released without bail.

Police said Chang was driving a vehicle that hit 75-year-old Bernadette Moon, who was walking in an Oahu crosswalk about 6:15 a.m. on Oct. 12, 2009. Moon was taken to the hospital in serious condition, but died three months later of injuries from the crash, police said.
