Neighborhood arguments result in two arrests

Friction between neighbors resulted in two men being arrested in separate accidents in Kalihi and St. Louis Heights earlier this week.

Police arrested a 31-year-old man who allegedly punched a neighbor during an argument while drinking in the garage of his neighbor’s Kalihi home.

Police said a 48-year-old man was drinking alcohol with co-workers when the suspect dropped by and joined them. The 31-year-old man got into an argument with his neighbor and allegedly punched him several times, breaking the victim’s nose at about 8:10 p.m. Monday night.

Police located the suspect at his home nearby and arrested him on suspicion of second-degree assault.

Meanwhile, an argument between neighbors in St. Louis Heights over street parking ended with the arrest of a 51-year-old man, police said.

A 38-year-old woman told officers that the suspect unlawfully entered her home while she was sitting on the living room couch about 5 p.m. Monday and confronted her about an on-going dispute over street parking.

Police were called and officers arrested the man in his home for suspicion of unauthorized entry in a dwelling, a felony.
