Elderly pedestrian dies after Palolo accident
An 87-year-old man hit by a van driven by a 78-year-old man in Palolo Tuesday night has died, police said.
The accident happened on 10th Ave. near Kaau Street at about 8 p.m.
Police said a 2002 green Nissan van driven by the 78-year-old man hit the pedestrian crossing 10th Ave.
The victim suffered critical head and internal injuries and died at the Queen’s Medical Center.
Police said this is the 28th traffic fatality this year, compared to 30 at the same time last year.
