A 55-year-old man was taken to the hospital in critical condition Friday night after a mo-ped crash in Waimanalo.

The crash happened near Mekia and Poalima streets about 6:40 p.m.

The man was not wearing a helmet when he lost control going over a speed bump at a slow rate of speed, according to emergency dispatch reports.

He rolled on the street three times and was not fully responsive when paramedics arrived, the reports said.

The man was taken to the Queen’s Medical Center with head injuries.
