Taxi getaway leads to arrest of robbery suspect
A taxicab proved to be the wrong getaway vehicle for a robbery suspect Sunday night.
Police said a 51-year-old Waikiki man allegedly used a knife to rob an acquaintance of money at about 10:20 p.m. Sunday in Moiliili and then fled in a taxi.
The victim, a 35-year-old man, called police. Officers tracked down the taxi and arrested the suspect at his home.
Police recovered the victim’s money, but said the knife was not located.
