Honolulu Fire Department rescue personnel have located a group of hikers originally believed to be missing somewhere between the Bowman Trail in Kalihi and the Stairway to Heaven passage in Kaneohe.

HFD personnel spent much of the evening conducting a ground and air search of the Kalihi side and organizing a search from the Kaneohe end. 

However, the group had apparently left the trail safely their own at some earlier point. Upon finding out that there was search under way for them, the hikers contacted HFD to confirm their safe return.
