State highways officials will hold a public informational meeting Thursday night on a proposal to stabilize slopes along Kuhio Highway, northwest of Hanalei, between mileposts 5.32 and 5.54.

The meeting will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Hanalei Community Center in the Hale Halawai Building.

The Highways Division will discuss alternatives, including a bypass road with retaining walls, cut-and-filled slopes, roadway signs and relocation of an overhead telephone line.
