Speech on astronaut Ellison Onizuka’s life to be given at UH
Hawaii-born astronaut Ellison Onizuka’s brother is to present a lecture at the University of Hawaii.
Claude Onizuka is to speak about the astronaut’s life at the free Aug. 25 event at the Architecture Building auditorium on the Manoa campus.
Ellison Onizuka was a mission specialist on the Orbiter Challenger mission that launched from Kennedy Space Center on Jan. 28, 1986. The seven-person crew died when the Challenger exploded 1 minute and 13 seconds after launch.
He was posthumously awarded the Congressional Space Medal of Honor.
