Police were looking for a man in his 30s who tried to rob a business in police District 1, from Nuuanu Avenue to Punahou Street.
The owner of the story, a 54-year-old man, was confronted by the robber who was wearing a bandanna over his face about noon Wednesday and carrying a gun, police said.
The owner was able to get out and call police. The bandit fled.
