Man arrested as suspect in McCully bank robbery
A 37-year-old man was arrested Monday afternoon in connection with a robbery at the McCully branch of Central Pacific Bank earlier this month.
Police said the man, who appears to be homeless, was arrested by officers from the Crime Reduction Unit of the Honolulu patrol district in the parking lot of the Kaheka Street Don Quijote store about 3:10 p.m. Monday.
Police believe the suspect is the man who handed a teller a note and ran off with an undisclosed amount of money from the bank, at McCully and South King streets, about 11:10 a.m. on Sept. 8.
The suspect is being held pending a charge of second-degree robbery.
