600 marijuana plants uprooted in sweep of Kauai

Federal, state and local law enforcement officials removed nearly 600 marijuana plants from locations across Kauai over the last two days, Kauai County officials announced today.

The plants ranged from seedlings to three feet in height. No arrests were made.

Among the agencies that assisted the Kauai Police Department were: Honolulu Police Department; Maui Police Department; state Division of Conservation and Resources Enforcement; state Narcotics Enforcement Division; and the U.S. Coast Guard.

The county helicopter was also used during the mission.

Funding for the marijuana eradication mission was provided through the Domestic Cannabis Eradication Suppression Program and the Statewide Marijuana Eradication Task Force.
