Purse in Fla. school board shooting on display
PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (AP) — The handbag a Florida school board member used to smack a man holding other school board members at gunpoint is on display in the Panhandle.
Ginger Littleton’s Brahmin purse was auctioned online for more than $13,000 in December. Littleton wasn’t able to disarm the gunman, but the purse became a hit. A security guard shot and wounded the gunman, Clay Duke, who then killed himself.
Littleton and the purse will be the guests of honor at a fundraiser Thursday for the Panama City Beach library. The bag is on display at the library with other items that will be auctioned, though officials tell The News Herald (http://bit.ly/n3faOJ) the purse won’t be up for bids.
