AUW’s restructuring will result in net loss of nine jobs

Aloha United Way is eliminating 15 positions under a restructuring plan to improve services to the community, the organization announced today.

Under the plan, the organization is also filling six vacant positions, including three in the areas of fundraising, new business development, leadership and planned giving. Outsourcing some administrative functions is also part of the plan.

The total number of AUW staff will go from 39 to 30.

“These changes will strengthen our ability to put the talents we need forward for the future of our community and Aloha United Way, AUW board chairman Robert Hale said in a news release. “These are wonderful people who’ve worked hard for Aloha United Way and this is hard for all of us. However, we know these changes are necessary to improve the effectiveness of Aloha Untied Way.”

Affected staff members will receive severance packages and job placement assistance, Hale said.
