Victim identified in Milolii crash
Hawaii County police identified the woman killed in a traffic accident Sunday in Milolii as Karen Alani-Powell, 44, of Kailua-Kona.
Firefighters said Alani-Powell was ejected from her sports utility vehicle, which crashed and overturned in a lava field about 20-yards off the end of Milolii Road just after midnight Sunday morning.
Her body was found about 25-feet from the vehicle and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
