LA’s Magic Castle catches fire
LOS ANGELES >> Fire has damaged the Hollywood landmark Magic Castle.
The Los Angeles Fire Department says the fire was reported at 12:35 p.m. Monday and was knocked down 65 minutes later.
Smoke could be seen rising from upper windows at the height of the blaze.
The Magic Castle is a private club for the Academy of Magical Arts and has been a venue for magic shows and dining since the 1960s. The club’s website say it will be closed Monday night because of the fire.
The ornate structure was built as a private home in the early 1900s.
