Police arrested a suspect in the robbery of a Haleiwa ice cream store with a BB gun.

The incident happened about 3:45 p.m. Wednesday at Scoop of Paradise when a man came in with the weapon, took about $180 in cash, and ran off, police said.

Officers found the alleged robber a short time later, the owner of Scoop of Paradise said.

The alleged BB gun was recovered after the suspect threw it down.

Police said the man, 39, of Waialua, jumped into a van to try to hide and was found about 5:45 p.m. walking near Paalaa Road.

He was booked for investigation of robbery and unauthorized entry of a vehicle.

A 22-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly driving the get-away car.
