A 25-year-old Lahaina man died Thursday night after the motorcycle he was driving crashed into a minivan in Kaanapali.

Maui police said that Jesse Grafft died on Honoapiilani Highway at 10:51 p.m. when his motorcycle collided with the minivan which was making a left turn from Honoapiilani Highway to Kaanapali Parkway. He was not wearing a helmet.

Police said they are still trying to determine if speed, drugs and alcohol played a part in the accident.

Two passengers inside the minivan suffered minor injuries and were treated at the crash scene.

This is Maui County’s 18th fatal crash of 2011 compared to 11 at the same time last year.
