100 protesters at Thomas Square dispersed after noise complaint

Police dispersed about 100 Occupy Honolulu protesters at Thomas Square on Beretania Street Friday night following a noise complaint about someone banging on a drum, police said.

Officers talked with the protesters after receiving the complaint, and the majority of the crowd dispersed without incident. In an email, Occupy Honolulu said most of the people left, but about 20 stayed at the park overnight, and their camp remains at the corner of Ward Avenue and Beretania Street.
