Fresno State’s defensive coordinator steps down
Six days before Fresno State is to play the University of Hawaii football team, the Bulldogs’ defensive coordinator stepped down from the position, the Fresno Bee reported today.
Randy Stewart leaves in the wake of a 48-45 loss at New Mexico State that has dropped the Bulldogs to 3-7.
The Bee said Stewart, who was in his 10th season, stepped down Sunday but will remain on staff working on recruiting and breaking down film.
He is to be replaced by linebackers’ coach Tim Skipper. The Bulldogs are yielding an average of 37.4 points per game, last in the WAC.
UH and Fresno State play at Aloha Stadium Saturday night.
