Man charged after allegedly leading police on a chase

A 31-year-old man with a substantial criminal history has been charged after allegedly taking police on a chase through the Pali, to Waimanalo and then back toward Kaneohe on Tuesday has been charged with multiple crimes.

Scott Van Lee, of no permanent address, but previously of Kailua, is being held on $150,000 bail. He is expected to make his first appearance in Circuit Court on Monday. Lee was charged Wednesday night with second-degree forgery, second-degree identity theft, unauthorized control of personal information and second-degree theft. Additionally, he was charged this morning with possessing drug paraphernalia, resisting an order to stop, promoting a dangerous drug and first-degree burglary.

Police said Lee had been wanted on a $30,000 contempt warrant and for allegedly forging a check earlier this month. Crime Reduction Unit officers located him while driving a van in Manoa about 10 a.m. Tuesday.
