45-year-old water main breaks in Hawaii Kai
Board of Water Supply crews finished repairing a 12-inch water main break at 330 Poipu Drive in Hawaii Kai at about 10:20 p.m. Sunday and were repairing the road into the night, a board spokesperson said.
Poipu Drive was closed in both directions between Makaweli Street and Kekaha Place.
The break was reported at 11:08 a.m. A water wagon was set up to provide water for affected customers. Eighteen customers were without water and 126 experienced low water pressure.
The broken main was installed in 1966.
