University of Hawaii center Vander Joaquim has been named the Western Athletic Conference men’s basketball player of the week, the conference office announced today.
Joaquim, a junior from Angola, averaged 17.5 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks in UH’s victories over UH-Hilo and North Carolina A&T over the weekend.
The Rainbow Warriors (5-4) host the Diamond Head Classic beginning Thursday at the Stan Sheriff Center. UH opens with Auburn.
