The man killed in a fight outside a Kapalama bar early Sunday has been identified as Solomone Niusini, 26, of Honolulu.

The city Department of Medical Examiner said Niusini died from head injuries due to a blunt head trauma and classified the case as a homicide.

Tevita Aholelei, 21, turned himself on Monday afternoon in connection with the incident outside Da Kine Sports Bar.

Police said Aholelei hit the victim about 2:05 a.m. Sunday outside the bar at 545 Kaaahi St., causing him to fall backwards and hit his head on the pavement.

Niusini was taken by ambulance to the Queen’s Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Aholelei is still being held at the Honolulu Police Department cellblock pending a count of second-degree murder.
