Hawaii County police are asking for the public’s help in identifying two men involved in a home invasion robbery last month in Puna.

Police said two men with sharp weapons forced their way inside a 29-year-old Keaau man’s home at about 10:30 p.m. on November 25. The victim fought back and was injured by one of the weapons when he disarmed one man, police said. Both assailants ran off.

The Keeau man was treated and released from Hilo Medical Center.

One burglar was in his late 30s, 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing about 210 pounds. He is bald with a heavy build, and dark complexion. He wore jeans and possibly a gray long-sleeve shirt.

The second assailant, who may have been injured, is in his mid- to late-20s, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, weight about 160 pounds  with a fair complexion. He had blue eyes, short blond hair, a slim build, and facial acne scars. He wore faded black long pants and a black short-sleeved shirt with a “Da Hui” logo.

Police are asking anyone with information on the burglary to call Detective Joel Field at 961-2381 or email him at jfield@co.hawaii.hi.us.

Anonymous tips can be made by calling Crime Stoppers in Hilo at 961-8300 or in Kona at 329-8181.
