Police: Man threw metal bar at friend’s car, injuring 3-year-old girl

Honolulu police arrested a Waianae man who allegedly threw a metal bar at a car, injuring a 3-year-old girl Tuesday afternoon.

Police said they don’t know why the 20-year-old man threw the bar at the car driven by a 20-year-old woman acquaintance. The bar shattered the front passenger window causing glass debris to fall on both the victim and her three-year-old daughter. The infant suffered minor injuries to her arm, but did not require hospitalization.

The suspect fled, but later in the day, police were called to a Waianae home and discovered the 20-year-old suspect being harassed by two men, both 20, who damaged his car and then fled.

Police found the car of the two suspects and arrested them for third-degree criminal property damage. During a routine search, officers found a firearm on one of the suspects and also arrested him for a firearms violation.
