Maui firefighters mop up Kahikinui brush fire that burned 30 acres
Maui firefighters returned to mop up the remnants of a 30-acre brush fire in Kahikinui that was 100 percent contained last night.
The fire department’s Air-1 helicopter performed some water drops this morning and ground crews continued mopping up hot spots, fire officials said.
Firefighters were dispatched to the Kaupo side of Manawainui Gulch after 5:30 p.m. Saturday night and firefighters had the fire under control and 100 percent contained at 11 p.m. Saturday night.
