Person dies after two near-drownings at apartment pool
One of two people who were in critical condition from near-drownings in a swimming pool at a Honolulu apartment has died, the Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office said Monday.
The Medical Examiner’s Office said it was still attempting to identify the dead person who had earlier been taken to a Honolulu emergency-care hospital.
The near-drowning incident involving the two occurred at the Makini at Kinau, 1050 Kinau St., about 2 p.m. Sunday, fire officials said.
Tenants found a man and a woman in their 20s, floating in the pool, and a police officer and an emergency medical technician applied CPR to both of them.
Both were taken to separate hospitals.
