A missing 75-year-old hiker is in good shape after spending a cold night in south Maui near La Perouse Bay.

A fire department spokesman said the woman got separated from her hiking group at about 2 p.m. When they couldn’t find her, they called the Maui Fire Department last night at about 8 p.m.

Firefighters began searching at first light this morning by air and on the ground. Rescuers located her and the fire department helicopter airlifted her out to the parking area, where her husband was waiting to take her home. No medical assistance was needed.
