A 48-year-old man was in critical condition with head and facial injuries after being hit with a chair and fists during an early morning fight in Waikiki.

Police arrested a 22-year-old man for investigation of second-degree attempted murder. The suspect allegedly hit his victim with a chair and his fists after an argument that escalated into violence, police said.

The incident happened on Kaiolu Street just after 1:15 a.m., police said.
