A Waikiki man was arrested after he allegedly stayed inside a closed Waikiki food retailer and stole money from the establishment Thursday morning.

Police said the man, 26, was found inside the closed Kalakaua Avenue around 5 a.m. Thursday but that he fled the scene. He was identified by employees as a former co-worker. He was arrested later in the day at his Ala Wai Boulevard home on a second-degree burglary count but released pending investigation.
