Police arrested an 18-year-old man Saturday morning after he allegedly stole money from a bar patron in Waimalu.

Police said the man, who has no local address, walked into Club Colorful at Waimalu Shopping Center about 12:05 a.m., approached a 46-year-old man from behind, and grabbed the man’s money from a table.

With the victim in pursuit, the suspect fled to a nearby park where the 6-year-old man tried to get his money back. Police said the younger man punched the victim in the face and ran away.

The victim flagged down a patrol officer who found the assailant nearby and arrested him at 12:36 a.m. for investigation of second-degree robbery.

Police said the victim had minor injuries, but declined treatment.
