White liquid pollutes canal leading into Honolulu Harbor
Firefighters monitored a white liquid found in a drainage canal near Nimitz Highway that leads into Honolulu Harbor.
The fire department was notified about 10 a.m. Saturday of the pollution behind Nimitz Center near Alakawa Street and determined it does not appear to be hazardous, said Honolulu fire Capt. Robert Main.
He said a fire hazardous materials crew was monitoring the area until a crew from the Department of Health could arrived to take over the scene.
