Honolulu medical examiners are examining at the skeletal remains of a person found Monday in the Nimitz area near the H-1 viaduct by a homeless man Monday.

Police said a homeless man found the remains under a roadway about 9 a.m. There were no suspicious circumstances or obvious signs of foul play, police said.

The identity of the person has not yet been determined. Police said it does not appear the remains are ancient and that they may be that of a homeless person who lived in the area.
