The 21-year-old Kaneohe man who died after falling out of the back of a pickup on Sunday in Kahaluu has been identified by the Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office as Jason Arruda.
He died of head injuries sustained while falling out of a moving vehicle, the Medical Examiner’s Office said.
Police said a 23-year-old Kaneohe man fled the scene in a Nissan Frontier after Arruda fell out of the pickup. An anonymous caller reported Arruda lying on Kamehameha Highway near Wailehua Road about 8 p.m. Sunday. He died at the Queen’s Medical Center early Monday.
