Officials at Marine Corps Base Hawaii at Kaneohe Bay request all base personnel and employees to stay where they are until further notice unless they are essential facilities department or emergency response personnel.
The base and much of the Windward Oahu bore the brunt of an assault of rain, hail, lightning and thunder that hit the island before dawn today. The entire island is under a flash flood warning until 10:15 a.m.
