A man who allegedly forcibly fondled a student in an elevator at a University of Hawaii dorm prompted a campus-wide alert to students and faculty.

UH Manoa Campus Security said the incident happened at 12:20 a.m. Saturday morning in the Hale Aloha Ilima dorm.

The student told Campus Security that when she got into the elevator, a man already in the elevator grabbed and fondled her, but she fought him off. When the elevator door opened, she screamed and fled.

The suspect is described as being in his 20s, 6 feet 6 inches or taller, with a medium build, brown or black crewcut and dark-colored eyes. He wore an olive-green T-shirt and smelled strongly of liquor.

Anyone with information is asked to call Campus Security at 956-6911.
