KOLOA, Kauai >> Kauai farmers are dealing with damaged crops after recent days of heavy rains.

Vendors Monday at a Koloa farmer’s market tell the Garden Island the deluge took a heavy toll on their produce.

Kapaa farmer Eric Wu says hail scarred some of his zucchini, likely leading to his last crop of the vegetable for a while. He says the weather also destroyed his lettuce and herbs.

Hannah Huang says her arugula and choy sum are damaged by the rain.

Other vendors complained of watered down green onions and leafy crops showing the stress of relentless pelting by rain.

The National Weather Service says more than 35 inches of rain fell on Hanalei between March 3-6.
