Yellow police tape surrounds a hole in an access area for underground cables near the site of a power outage in Mililani this morning.

The power is back on for about 400 customers following a two-hour power outage in Mililani early this morning.

The outage occurred at 1:30 a.m. after a problem with an underground cable, Hawaiian Electric Co. spokesman Darren Pai said.

He said the company is still investigating the cause of the outage.

Hawaii News Now reported that police found a gaping hole that leads to the cable near where the power outage occurred. Area residents heard a loud explosion just before 1:30 a.m.
