UH hoops backup point guard Miles transfers off team

Hawaii men’s basketball backup point guard Bobby Miles has transferred off the team to be closer to home, UH announced in a release tonight.

“I have really enjoyed coaching Bobby,” UH coach Gib Arnold said in the release. “He’s a great kid to be around and a good teammate. I wish him the best on finding a school closer to home to fit his needs.”

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound Miles, of Los Angeles, started 17 of 55 career games with the Rainbow Warriors. He started seven games this past season as a sophomore and finished with 40 assists, good for fourth on the team.

Miles is the second UH player eligible to return who left the team this spring. Junior forward Joston Thomas left the team to go pro last month.
