Hawaii County police have identified the motorcyclist who was fatally injured Wednesday in a collision with a car as Brocky A. Rapozo, 31, of Honokaa.

The car driver and the motorcyclist were heading north when the motorcycle rear-ended the sedan and sideswiped the car slightly, police said. The motorcyclist lost control and hit a guard rail. The motorcyclist was thrown and landed on the side of the road, police said.

The accident happened about 11:25 a.m. on Highway 190, near the 14-mile marker in Puuanahulu.

Police officers investigating the accident closed Highway 190 between Waikoloa Road and Kaiminani Drive. The highway was reopened about 3 p.m.
