Homeless advocate Sharon Black’s services will be April 17
Services for Sharon Black, former Honolulu Police Department outreach worker and homeless advocate, will be held Tuesday(17).
Black, 52, of Aiea, died at Hospice Hawaii in Kailua on April 5 after a battle with cancer. She was born in Brooklyn, New York.
An HPD outreach worker for more than 20 years, she also was founder of the Kau Kau Wagon, which provides lunch each Saturday to the disadvantaged at Chinatown Gateway Park each Saturday.
She is survived by daughter Nicole Black; son Chez Black; mother Elaine Moresco; father Maurice Moresco; brothers Gary, Steven, Ronald and Sonny April; and one grandson.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Honolulu Japanese Seventh-day Adventist Church at 2655 Manoa Road. Service is at 11. Casual attire.
