Man sentenced to 20 years for fatal Ala Moana beach shooting
A state judge today sentenced 22-year-old Christopher Alesna to 20 years in prison for manslaughter for fatally shooting an 18-year-old man at Ala Moana Beach Park in 2008.
Khaynava Phanthanouvong died of a gunshot wound to his chest Sept. 1, 2008.
Police said Alesna went to the beach park after Phanthanouvong had sent text messages challenging him to a fight.
