Hawaii state tax filing deadline has arrived.
State tax returns must be postmarked or dropped off at a district tax office collection box before midnight today.
The Department of Taxation says the department is processing tax returns more efficiently than ever before. So far this year, the department has processed about 90 percent of tax returns within two weeks of receipt. Last year, it took about six weeks.
Refunds are also processing much faster, sometimes within days for receiving a taxpayer’s return.
The fastest way to file a tax return and receive a refund is through e-filing at http://www.hawaii.gov/tax .
