Honolulu Police say motorists should avoid Lusitana Street between San Antonio Avenue and South Kuakini Street because of a water main break.

Board of Water Supply crews are expected to remain on scene at 1817 Lusitana Street for much of the day to repair the 6-inch pipe and the road.

About 45 homes are without water due to the break, which was reported shortly before 4 a.m. Crews  set up a spigot on a fire hydrant to provide water for affected residents and plan to also set up a water wagon near the corner of Boyd Lane and Lusitana Street
