Canadian guard commits to UH men’s basketball team
Manroop Clair, a 6-foot-2, 170-pound shooting guard from British Columbia, has committed to play for the Hawaii men’s basketball team starting next season, a source confirmed.
Clair, of Huntington Prep Academy (Va.), will have four years of eligibility starting in the fall. His national letter of intent paperwork is expected in today.
For his DRIVE AAU team last summer, Clair averaged about 30 points and over 40 percent shooting on 3-pointers.
He’s most known for his long-range shooting ability, drawing comparisons in that aspect to former BYU guard Jimmer Fredette.
UH has another scholarship to offer for next season.
