Hawaii senior right-hander Matt Sisto was named the Western Athletic Conference pitcher of the week on Monday.

Sisto earned his career-high eighth win in a 5-2 victory over New Mexico State on Thursday, allowing one run on five hits in seven innings with four strikeouts.

He currently leads the league with eight wins and 83 innings pitched and is fifth with a 2.82 ERA.

The Rainbows (28-18, 8-4) took over first place in the WAC with a three-game sweep of New Mexico State. Up next is a road series at Sacramento State beginning Friday.
