Police: Suspects arrested trying to use stolen credit card

A Kalihi Valley man, banned from the Home Depot in Iwilei, was arrested Friday after security guards noticed him back at the store, trying to use a stolen credit card, police said.

Security guards noticed the 24-year-old man when he entered the store with a 21-year-old man about 12:30 p.m. Friday. Both men selected merchandise and tried to pay using two stolen credit cards, police said.

The card owners reported that their property had been stolen in a car break-in earlier in the day.

Police arrested both men for investigation of theft, fraudulent use of a credit card, and unauthorized possession of personal information.

The 24-year-old man was also arrested for investigation of second-degree burglary because he had been banned from the store.
