Stanley leads U.S. to Olympic volleyball berth
Honolulu’s Clay Stanley had a team-high 15 points to lead the U.S. men’s volleyball team to a 28-26, 25-18, 25-19 over Canada tonight in the NORCECA Olympic Qualifier in Long Beach, Calif.
Stanley, a Kaiser High graduate who played at the University of Hawaii, had 11 kills, two aces and a block for the defending Olympic champions. This will be Stanley’s third Olympics; in 2008, he was named the Most Valuable Player for men’s volleyball at the Games.
