Fire destroys Maui home
Fire destroyed a home in northeastern Maui near Hana overnight.
The home is a total loss with damage estimated at $250,000 to the 900-square foot wooden home and its contents.
Maui firefighter were called to Nahiku at 11:46 p.m. and brought the fire under control at 1:58 a.m. It was extinguished at 6:33 a.m.
Fire investigators said the fire started in the oven, which the owner said she had left on.
No one was at home when the fire broke out.
