Hawaii island highway reopens after crews repair downed utility pole

A stretch of Highway 190 near Lindsay Road was reopened this morning after crews finished repairs on a downed utility pole, Hawaii island police said. 

Drivers had to use Ala Ohia Street (the Waimea bypass) as an alternate route to Kona/Saddle Road while crews were working on the repairs from Sunday afternoon until early this morning.
